For almost 50 years, Trinity Baptist Church ignored allegations that Pastor Robert Calhoun Gray, Jr. had molested children.
He’d told little girls that his molesting them was God’s reward, and he had told little girls that he was like God in this church.
I’ve stood on Bob Gray’s grave. Trinity Baptist Church protected him and allowed him to molest children for almost 50 years. Then he died in prison. Then Trinity Baptist Church reminded its practitioners they should worship God, not man. “Hate the sin and love the sinner,” they say now.
