On September 11, 2010, the ninth anniversary of the World Trade Center bombings in Manhattan: “For God So Loved Muslims.”

(after a week during which a Gainesville, Florida preacher attracted international attention for trying to brand September 11th as “International-Burn-a-Quran-Day)

A week before Halloween, when the church was running its annual “Pumpkin Patch” pumpkin sale: “Bad Decisions Lead to Poverty.” Having driven onto the grounds of this wealthy neighborhood church to buy a pumpkin to carve into a jack-o’-lantern, Jason Fehrman and his daughters read the message on the church’s sign and immediately left without buying a pumpkin. The Fehrmans are poor and they haven’t made many bad decisions. They decided to buy a pumpkin from the grocery store instead.
