Says the hippie, “The thing you gotta understand, man, is there is no place devoid of beauty. You can’t let anything get in the way of that—not politics, not ignorance, not economics. I mean, you take a town like Jacksonville, and you can say whatever you think it is, man, it’s dull or it’s backward or whatever, but the thing you gotta understand is that in a backward town there are beautiful neighborhoods and beautiful streets, there are beautiful lives and people being beautiful and kind to one another, and they make beautiful moments, moments that are beautiful between people, and you can’t take that away y’know? You gotta acknowledge that. You have to acknowledge there is beauty here.”
